Mrs Bacon’s family joined St John’s Academy in 2014 and she has been on the faculty since 2018. She serves as the Art Teacher and as Teacher’s Assistant. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Art from Oregon State University. She and her husband Steve have been married for over 20 years, living in Florida for most of their marriage, and have two children that have thrived at the Academy for several years since they each started in Kindergarten. She has many years of experience working with children of all ages and loves her students as her own, whether in Art class or assisting them in their regular classrooms when she’s working as Teacher’s Aide. Her past professional work in art has been in Graphic Design, advertising, and corporate identity. In the classroom, she and art students dive in together with hands-on projects and art mediums that emulate our great historical classical artists and historical art periods ranging from Ancient Egypt to Modern time. Mrs. Bacon’s Art classes also include Art History and a broad overview of lifetime art skills everyone should have. Above all, students learn how God is our master Creator who formed us in His image and how beautiful the world is that He has created!
