Beth Masters

4th Grade

Mrs. Masters has been teaching at SJA since 2009. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Flagler College in Psychology and English. Beth’s husband Tommy is a St. Augustine native and they have three grown children. She loves to drink coffee, surf whenever she possibly can, read and nap in her hammock. A favorite Bible verse is “Be still and know that I am God” from Psalms.

“I’m still learning” is one of my favorite quotations (Michelangelo) and one that fits me well. I love being in the classroom directing instruction and I enjoy being in the classroom to receive it. I feel truly blessed to be a part of the caring staff at St.  John’s Academy.

In 4th grade we get to take an extended tour through the Middle Ages and students will hopefully have a greater appreciation for our American and Christian heritage.  They’ll experience writing and delivering a speech for the school-wide speech competition and have to write a research paper on a medieval topic for our end of the year Medieval Festival and Feast.  We study astronomy in science as well as how our weather here on earth is influenced by solar and lunar activity.  These are just a few things to look forward to in 4th grade!
